Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin were nominated for the prestigious ICC Men of Player of the decade Award alongside the Indian captain in all five men’s categories for their incredible careers in the past 10 years on Tuesday.
Kohli and veteran Ashwin are two of the seven players nominated for the most prestigious award.
Apart from the Indian couple, Joe Root (England), Kane Williamson (New Zealand), Steve Smith (Australia), AB de Villiers (South Africa) and Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka) are the other contenders in this category.
In the ODI men’s Decade category, former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and runner Rohit Sharma also participated alongside Kohli, Lasith Malinga (Sri Lanka), Mitchell Starc (Australia), de Villiers and Sangakkara.
